What We Do
Advance the Christian religion in
particular, by transcribing Christian literature from print into Braille, for
eventual inclusion in the RNIB National Library Service.
Ø Supply material at the request of individual or groups.
Examples of material previously supplied include the following:
- A bride-to-be asked us to transcribe a Bible passage for her blind brother to read at her marriage service.
- A Lay Reader asked us to Braille a formal certificate to be awarded to him on completion of his training.
- For the Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham, a transcriber Brailled the updated Pilgrim Manual.
People can suggest to our Book Choice Committee titles which they would feel
would be suitable for transcription by the Guild by mailing them to the
secretary (please see the contact details on the 'Contact Us' page).
In the past few years we have transcribed many books for the RNIB National Library Service. To view the latest list please click on the following link which opens as a PDF document: List of books transcribed.
